Kids Remote makes good parenting fun. It runs the jobs, the rewards, bedtime and the internet switch, with believable AI characters for parents and kids. Every family also gets a drawing of their own house and crew, and that drawing is made to be printed.
Nagging about jobs. Arguing about screens. Pulling the plug on the Wi-Fi. Every family knows the routine.
Kids Remote turns the phone the kids already love into the thing that runs the house. Jobs earn points, points become Dollarbucks, bedtime comes with a story, and the internet has an off switch that parents control.
Kids Remote is built by John Cook, an Australian dad of five. He wanted the phone to help with parenting instead of fighting it, so he built the app he wanted for his own home.
It's a family business from Australia. The humour is Aussie, and so are Banjo and her yarns.
A cheeky cartoon cat on Grok voice. She tells 10 Aussie bedtime yarns the kids can heckle, has a Learn something mode, plans the chores with parents, and reads books aloud.
A scripted safety voice, not AI. He cuts in with straight facts: snakes and crocs, poisons (call 000), fire, roofs and dams, and the reminder that Banjo is a computer cat.
IT help on call. He knows every screen, walks parents through setup, and can block an app by name for phones set up with NextDNS.
Nothing to download or install: this whole page is one file, and the demo runs inside it. Every screen below was captured from the live Kids Remote web app with a demo family: Rusty and Jo (the parents), Pip and Kit (the kids), Biscuit the dog and the chooks. Tap the glowing spots to move around the way the app does, or use Next.
Captured on 9 October 2026 from kids-remote.pages.dev at phone size, in a fresh browser with the demo family only. Nothing was saved to the live service, no phones were linked and no payments were made. The AI characters run on each family's own AI key; this demo has no key, so Banjo's and Arun's voices aren't playing, and where the app says so on screen we've left it in.
The opening drawing in the app shows the family's house, the family members and the pets, under a Dawn, Day, Dusk or Night sky. The same picture becomes their merch. Only the drawing, the Kids Remote wordmark and a QR code to the app are printed, never names.
A full set of files for a demo family, in all four skies (the contact sheet shows every one; click it to open the full sheet).
The app is what families come for. The merch is how they show it off. We'd like VistaPrint to print and ship it.
Australia, the UK and the US. The US is the biggest market we're going after.
Each design is that family's own drawing, so it's quantity 1 per design. A single family order can include several tees and caps, plus stickers and a mug.
The planned yearly membership is US$99 and includes one free bumper sticker, with extra copies at $5. Membership billing isn't switched on yet.
We're an Australian family business and we'd like our merch made in Australia, by one partner who can also reach families in the UK and the US. Everything we print (tees, kids tees, caps, stickers and mugs) is in VistaPrint's range, and our bumper and tee files are already sized to it.
